Stand up for Labour - Central London, Friday 17 November
Stand up for Labour at the Seven Dials Club featuring headline act Attila the Stockbroker
Stand up for Labour returns to the Seven Dials Club, 42 Earlham Street, London WC2H 9LA with a line up including one of the country's leading poets and three of our favourite comedians.
Juliet Meyers writes gags for TV and radio as well as performing stand-up. She has been a popular act at Stand up for Labour gigs and has appeared at dozens of events, from Bath to Loughborough. During the last Edinburgh Fringe, her one-hour show also included her dog!
Don Biswas had a fantastic Edinburgh Festival following a number of years on the comedy circuit. His show, 'Left wing conspiracy theorist with dyspraxia' was not only hilarious but very well received by critics. Don is also an active member of the Labour Party and went down a treat at his first Stand up for Labour event, in Basildon.
Steve Gribbin was part of the double act Skint Video that appeared in Red Wedge and the cult TV programme Saturday Night Live. Steve regularly appears at the Comedy Store’s Cutting Edge night, in which he performs topical material. He has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour events right across the country.
Attila the Stockbroker was launched into public consciousness by Radio One DJ John Peel in 1982/83, and he has spent 35 years touring the world, performing well over 3,000 gigs in 24 countries and releasing 40 LPs/EPs/CDs and seven books of poetry.
Guest speaker is Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell!
The night is compered by Crispin Flintoff and features liquid prizes, a raffle and plenty of cameraderie.
Funds raised from the night go towards a Stand up for Labour tour of the country.
