Arthur Smith headlines a great night of comedy in Westerham
Stand up for Labour holds its first event for Sevenoaks CLP at Westerham Hall (Quebec Avenue, Westerham TN16 1BG) featuring three of our favourite acts.
Opening act Juliet Meyers writes gags for TV and radio as well as performing stand-up. She has been a popular act at Stand up for Labour gigs and has appeared at dozens of events, from Bath to Loughborough. During the last Edinburgh Fringe, her one-hour show also included her dog!
Middle act Sir Ian Bowler is a loathsome Tory MP without an ounce of political correctness. Performed by 'Have I Got News For You' writer Nat Tapley, Sir Ian has proved to be a surprisingly popular performer at Stand up for Labour events from Preston to Ipswich.
Headline act Arthur Smith is known as a ‘Grumpy Old Man’ but he has brought joy to many Labour supporters in the past five years, including at the first ever Stand up for Labour in July 2012. Comedy legend Arthur has appeared on every TV show you can think of and is also an accomplished writer and playwright.
The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who was formerly a runner up in the Hackney Empire New Acts of the Year. Crispin set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has now organised over 200 fundraising events for CLPs all over England, Scotland and Wales.
The night will also include liquid prizes and a raffle.
